Tom is opening new
markets in Texas for Natural Resources Group. In the fall of 2003 he
purchased 10 acres in Magnolia Texas and successfully built a satellite
warehouse and office. NRG had one of its best years ever in 2004 and the future
looks promising.
The 10 acres in Magnolia Texas has been
affectionately named "the property," or perhaps more officially "Hrncirik
Haven." When the family gathers, Tom likes to gather everyone at the
property to barbeque, ride on the 4-wheelers, do some fishing on the pond,
sit around the campfire, and other fun events. Tom and Sheryl often
invite friends out to Hrncirik Haven to relax in the piney woods. Tom
has big plans for Hrncirik Haven.
One of Tom's passions is genealogy and he
has traveled to the Czech Republic many times since 1979 to search out his
ancestors. He has traced the Hrncirik line in the archives of the
Czech Republic back to 1627, but cannot find any more records. He has
been able to trace some of the other lines back further. Tom
co-founded the Moravian Heritage Society, which helps American Czechs keep
in touch with their roots. The Moravian Heritage Society publishes a
quarterly newsletter, Morava Krasna, which is widely distributed around the
world. Tom also organizes tours back to the "mother country" every
summer. For more about the Moravian Heritage Society, please visit the
